Alexandros Kallegias

Alexandros Kallegias:(Programme Head) is an architect currently teaching at the Architectural Association (AA), and the University of Oxford Brookes and having taught at the University of Liverpool (2013-2015). He is the Programme Director of AA Greece Visiting School, AA Athens Visiting School, and Co-Director of AA Summer DLAB. He is a Senior Architect at Zaha Hadid Architects, acting as BIM Coordinator for different projects in different countries. He received his MArch degrees from University of Patras in 2000 (High Honors), and AA Design Research LAB (DRL) in 2011. His work has been published as well as presented in conferences around the world like SimAUD and eCAADe among others and he has been an invited in juries like the Archiprix 2015 in Ankara. He is a registered architect in the UK and in Greece.

 

Nikos Kalogirou

 

 

 

 

Nikos Kalogirou: (AUTH Coordinator) received his architecture diploma from the School of Architecture, Faculty of Engineering of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.  He continued his post-graduate studies in Paris. He is a professor of the School of Architecture-Faculty of Engineering of AUTH where he has been teaching since 1983. He has supervised numerous diploma design projects and doctoral theses.  During the period 1991-1993 he was a visiting professor at the Graduate School of the Architectural Association in London. Since 2000 he is a professor and coordinator, and since 2006, director of studies for the graduate program in Environmental Design of Buildings and Cities of the Greek Open University. He has also contributed considerably academic administration,  as director of the Department of Architectural and Urban Design (2000-2001),  (2013) , as Vice Head  (2001-2005 ) and as Head ( 2005-2009) , (2013) of the School of Architecture of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki , as a founding member of the temporary General Assembly of the new School of Architecture of the Technical University of Crete in Chania (2003-2005) , as a founding member – Vice Head (2004-2008) and as Head (2008-2010)  of the department of Spatial Planning and Development of AUTH.

Stavros Vergopoulos: (AUTH Coordinator) holds a Diploma in Architecture, from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece, and a PhD in Digital Design in Architecture, from the University of Edinburgh, UK.  He is an Assistant Professor in the School of Architecture of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, in Representation and Digital Techniques in Design, and the director of the Digital Fabrication Laboratory of the school.  He has been a Visiting Professor in the School of Architecture of Frederick University, Cyprus, and a part-time Lecturer in the School of Architecture of the University of Thessaly, Greece.  He is a member of the Scientific Committee of the International Conference “Intelligent Environments”.  Stavros Vergopoulos has participated in several academic conferences and design workshops and contributed to several publications. He is also a practitioner architect and has designed a large number of buildings for both the public and the private sector.

 

Anastasios Tellios

 

 

 

 

Anastasios Tellios: (AUTH Coordinator) is Assistant Professor of Architectural Design, Theory and Practice, at B’ Department of Architectural and Urban Design, at School of Architecture, AUTh, Thessaloniki, Greece. He was born in Berlin, Germany, studied Architecture in Thessaloniki (Dip. Arch. AUTh and PhD AUTh) and London (M.Arch, Dist., The Bartlett, UCL) and he is currently located in Thessaloniki. His academic interests are related to architecture and urban design, and the respective hermeneutic theories. His recent focus is placed on advanced architectural design and design research. His work, both theoretical and practical, as an architect and educator, has been published and exhibited in Greece and internationally.

 

YueShi

 

 

 

 

Yue Shi: is currently working at Zaha-Hadid Architect London as a senior desinger. He holds a Master degree in Architecture and Urbanism from the Design Research Lab (DRL) at the Architectural Association in London (2010- 2012). Prior to this, Yue Shi has completed the Bachelor degree in Architecture at Beijing Jiaotong University in 2010.During his study at the AA, Yue Shi has developed his skill in digital generative tools and computational design methodology. He has brought his expertise into diverse range of projects and competitions across Asia, Middle east and North Africa during his practice at Zaha-Hadid Architects.

Elina Pattichi: is currently director at the young and internationally awarded practice EP Architects while doing part-time research at the University of Cyprus. She holds BArch – MArch with honors from the National Technical University of Athens (2009) and March from Architectural Association/DRL (2011). She has extended research in digital generative processes in architecture for the development of innovative, sustainable and structurally efficient designs. Her teaching experience in universities and workshops includes academic agendas that range between architectural and industrial design with specific interest in computer aided and manufacturing techniques. Besides teaching and research she finds essential to participate with critical and creative proposals in the making of cities, landscapes and buildings. She has participated in numerous architectural competitions and received six awards which were published in magazines like Architectural Review. EP Architects’ work gained considerable international attention when the project Footbridge-C received international honors at the Future Projects Awards competition organized by Architectural Review-MIPIM2013.

 

eirini vouliouri

 

 

 

 

Eirini Vouliouri: is a registered architect in Greece, having graduated from the NTUAthens School of Architecture (2008). She holds an MSc in Design-Space-Culture from NTUAthens (2010) and an MSc in Advanced Architecture and Computation from the Bartlett School of Graduate Studies, UCL (2010). Currently, she is pursuing a PhD research at the NTUAthens School of Architecture, concerning interaction design and digital fabrication processes. Eirini is also a member of FabLab Athens. She has participated in international conferences, both as a presenter and an organiser, and has lectured as an invited Teaching Assistant at the Digital Design and Manufacturing course of NTUAthens School of Architecture, for the academic years 2013-14 and 2014-15. In parallel, she works as a freelance architectural engineer in Athens, collaborating with several practices and individual professionals.

Sylvia Georgiadou: received her Diploma as an Architect in February 2005 from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. During her 3rd year of studies (2001-2002) she attended courses at the Faculty of Architecture “Universita degli Studi di Firenze”, as an exchange student.
In 2007 Sylvia graduated from the 16-month postgraduate program Design Research Laboratory of the Architectural Association in London, receiving her Masters of Architecture and Urbanism (M.Arch).
Between March 2007 and September 2008 she worked as an architect at the firm Zaha Hadid Architects in London. In the following years, until May 2010, she worked for the architectural office “Meletitiki – Alexandros N. Tombazis and Associate Architects”, in Athens. In April 2011 Sylvia joined the architectural firm PM+A in Thessaloniki. In September she established collaboration with the architectural firm Th. Papayiannis and Associates in Athens.
Sylvia has given a number of lectures on Digital and Parametric Design at the University of Pennsylvania (Philadelphia, USA), at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and the University of Thessaly.

 

Alex A Tsolakis 2

 

 

 

 

Alex A. Tsolakis: gained a Diploma in Architecture at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, before under taking a Master of Arts at the Staedelschule Frankfurt a.M. In 2009 he established alphataf – a studio for spatial practice, focusing on architectural consultancy and multimedia installations (www.alphataf.com). Alex is a co-founder and creative director of Blank Slate Journal launched in 2013 (www.blankslate.de). He has experience in various competitions and private projects. He has been a tutor in several workshops including AA VS Rio de Janeiro 2014 and AA VS Sao Paulo 2014.

 

Arsenios Zachariadis

 

 

 

 

Arsenios Zachariadis:  is an architect, born in Thessaloniki. He recently received his Diploma in Architecture from School of Architecture, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. He is interested in exploring new architectural practices through advanced design techniques. During his studies he has taken part in many architectural competitions as an individual or a team member and his work is exhibited in international design exhibitions and published in architectural books and sites. He has also acquired professional experience in architectural firms mostly on complex architectural projects. Currently, he is still looking for innovative ideas in understanding the role of design as an orchestration of numerous controversial multi-agent data.
